This post is simply a preliminary. I figured I would lay out what I will be doing while I'm in Namibia.
I will be going on a conservation biology program through Round River Conservation Studies. I will be living in the Kunene Region, in northwestern Namibia, where I will be helping research black rhinos with Save the Rhino Trust. We'll be doing work concerning habitat analysis, determining what is a suitable habitat, and finding areas that are conducive for reintroduction. We'll also be working to reduce HID's (human induced disturbances), and working with some ecotourism groups to make sure their practices are not disturbing the wildlife.
I think thats a good, but brief overview of the program. This will be pretty much my only form of contact while I'm in Namibia, so if you wish to remain updated about how life goes in the Kunene, then check in here. I am guaranteed internet access once a month, but they say we will probably get it a bit more than that.
