It’s beginning. The anti-malarial drugs are beginning to work. “Kevin, how do you know?” one might ask. The main side effect of mefloquine (the anti-malarial) is mild hallucination. This most frequently manifests itself in the dreams one has. Dreams become very vivid, to the point of feeling real.
And they have begun. I’ve dreamt about everything, from something as mundane as people walking into my house, to crazy stuff like getting chased by motorcyclists while on Martin Granick’s motorcycle. I don’t remember most of them; whether or not that is fortunate I have not decided. I just wake up with a blurred line between reality and the dreamworld. It’s fantastic trying to figure out what’s actually happened and what I’ve dreamed.
In other news, yesterday was one of those days where the language improves by leaps and bounds. I’m on top of the world right now when it comes to Portuguese. Granted, I’ve also been speaking to my ten year old sister and five year old brother, so I haven’t been forming complex ideas, but I was able to pass a conversation about various things.
Internet has been slightly schizophrenic the past couple days. I'm hoping to upload a few sometime in the near future.
